More intensive cleaning of public areas has begun

11 Mar 2020

As of this morning (Wednesday 11 March), House Services have commenced more intensive cleaning of public areas to help support the Government’s containment efforts for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)

This advice is correct at the time of publication of this news article.  For the latest information, please check Public Health England and the University’s coronavirus website.

There are currently no confirmed cases among our staff and students and we are maintaining business as usual, with all buildings and spaces open as normal. However, these precautionary measures will assist our University in minimising the potential spread of infection.

As a result, office cleaning will be reduced to emptying bins only.

The most important action all students and colleagues can take is to follow NHS advice around hand washing and familiarise themselves with the latest information supplied by Public Health England.

Further information for our colleagues can be found on a dedicated StaffNet site.

The University will continue to follow the latest expert advice from Government and we will continue to update our students and colleagues as further information becomes available.
