6.45pm, Wednesday 19 February at HOME Mcr

Lindsey

Editor, critic & broadcaster Ellah Wakatama OBE curates and presents this brand-new series of in-depth interviews at HOME, in partnership with the Centre for New Writing, Creative Manchester and Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute at The University of Manchester, with a line-up of some of our most exciting contemporary writers whose work embodies and has strong resonance with the powerful theme of Hope & Resistance.

On Wednesday 19 February, Lindsey Hilsum joins us for our final event in the series. Lindsey Hilsum is an international Channel 4 News Editor and has reported on conflicts from around the world throughout her career – from Syria to Rwanda to Iraq. She is the author of two works of non-fiction, one on Libya and one the biography of fellow correspondent Marie Colvin. Lindsey will discuss her work with Ellah Wakatama, work that is carried out in times of crisis when the human condition is most laid bare. Hear Lindsey's incredible experiences of bearing witness and bringing us news of our world and the lives lived within it.

Writers so far have included Jackie Kay, Gary Younge, Christina Lamb, Kamila Shamsie and Aminatta Forna.
