Live near Oldham? Ever thought about volunteering as a school governor?

08 Jan 2020

If so, join us at Oldham Sixth Form College on the evening of Wednesday, 26 February to find out more about school governing

Schools in Oldham, Rochdale and Bury need school governors to support their leadership and vision. Despite having 230 governors here at our University, only a handful govern in these areas and we’d like to try and redress the balance.

Being a school governor is both rewarding and challenging and could be just the thing for you in 2020. Staff who govern report that the skills they develop in the role benefit them in the workplace and improve both their confidence and communication skills.

The evening will be hosted by Oldham Sixth Form College and Governors for Schools, the charity responsible for matching governors to schools and representatives from the University will be on hand during two evening sessions at 5pm and again at 6.30pm to provide information and answer questions about the role. You are welcome to attend whichever session is most convenient.

If you would like to attend please register using the Eventbrite booking form.
