Dear Colleague,

A new Strategic Change Sub-Committee (SCSC), reporting to PRC, has been formed to oversee the delivery of the University’s strategic change portfolio.

The SCSC amalgamates Change and IT Projects Sub-Committee (CITPSC) and Programme Management Board (PMB) and will actively manage the scope of the strategic change portfolio to ensure it is delivering the highest priority projects that will deliver our University Vision and Strategic Plan.

Luke Georghiou is chair of SCSC and I am interim chair during Luke’s absence. Secretariat is provided by the Strategic Change Office (previously the Programme Management Office). Membership of SCSC has been drawn from CITP and PMB.

The establishment of SCSC has been influenced by colleague feedback from the Our Future process which consistently raised opportunities relating to prioritisation, simplifying activity, joining up how we do things and reducing overall levels of burden.

It also will be key to addressing the feedback from the staff survey relating to how we deliver change. SCSC will oversee strategic change holistically as “one plan” and improve visibility and understanding of all strategic projects across the University, safeguarding delivery and benefits.

SCSC will evolve over time, as we continue to strengthen our approach to change delivery. If you have any questions about SCSC or further thoughts about how we can improve in this area, please contact Beth Dodd, Director, Transformation, beth.dodd@manchester.ac.uk. Alternatively, please contact the Strategic Change Office if you would like them to come and discuss SCSC with your team, uom-pmo@manchester.ac.uk.
