New resources in Alliance MBS show staff capabilities

DVO

Colleagues from across the University gathered to find out more about two new facilities at Alliance Manchester Business School.

The first of their kind in the University, the School's Data Visualisation Observatory (DVO) and Behavioural Research Laboratory (BRL) were presented to a variety of staff.

  • The DVO is a large-scale visualisation facility that provides a home for data-driven research, engagement and teaching activities across the University. The observatory offers interactive 3D visualisations of data with laser-sharp definition on a cylindrical matrix of 72 full HD screens, and will help researchers to develop new insights into data and models, and to support information-intensive brainstorming sessions within the lab or across the world.
  • The BRL is a state-of-the-art facility for studying human behaviour in a controlled setting. It provides a dedicated space for conducting lab experiments across a range of applications concerning business and management.
