New leadership model - latest Grade 8 and 9 management appointments

More progress towards achieving the new leadership model for the Directorate for the Student Experience and specific areas in the Faculties and Schools

Further to previous announcements, work has been continuing to fill the vacant positions we have currently. We’re now pleased to be able to communicate the following colleagues have been appointed.

Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health

Head of School Operations – School of Health Sciences

Sharon Grant (University of Liverpool)

Head of School Operations – School of Medical Sciences

Dr David Patwell (University of Liverpool)

Head of Teaching, Learning and Student Experience – School of Biological Sciences

Kerry Mycock (previously School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering, FSE)

Head of Research and Business Engagement

Dr Darien Rozentals (previously School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, FSE)

Faculty of Humanities

Head of Teaching, Learning and Student Experience – School of Arts, Languages and Cultures

Emma Wilson (previously School of Arts, Languages and Cultures)

Also, Kim Graakjaer, who was previously seconded to the role of Head of School Administration in the School of Computer Sciences (FSE), has been appointed as Head of Engagement and Communications for both SLP and the Student Experience Project. We’d like to thank Marianne Webb, who has been instrumental in creating and delivering this role, as she returns full-time to her role as Head of Communications and Marketing for Humanities.

Patrick Hackett, Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer, was keen to point out how pleased he was with these latest appointments and said:

‘These new appointments are a great step forward and complete the New Leadership Model across the Faculties. I’d like to thank those people who have been stepping in to cover roles in the meantime and extend a warm welcome to the new members of the PS Leadership Team.’
