Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) to launch

26 Mar 2019

PRES is a key source of detailed feedback from our postgraduate research students and allows us to identify what is going well and the areas requiring improvement

Students

As the only national survey of research students it also allows us to compare the experience of our research students with that of competitor institutions.   In 2017 we secured an excellent response rate of 62% and we would be grateful for support to help us achieve an excellent response again.

Throughout the survey period, there will be central communications to remind PGRs to complete the survey. However, we know from past experience that PGRs respond to those they have regular contact with and so if you work with our PGR community please encourage them to complete the survey.

Emphasise that we will listen to and act on their feedback and reiterate that all responses to the survey are confidential and the reporting of the results will be completely anonymous.

Also, for the first time, this year, the University will make a £1 donation to charity for every response received. The money raised will be split between:

The survey opens on 1 April and runs until 17 May and those who are eligible to take the survey will be contacted via email and can also access the survey via My Manchester and E Prog.

A staff briefing along with key dates for communications and promotional materials such as screensavers and posters are available on our PRES webpages. If you have any questions please contact avp-researchers@manchester.ac.uk or claire.faichnie@manchester.ac.uk
