28 Feb 2019

Wayne Keating has been appointed as interim Director of Faculty Operations (DoFO) in the Faculty of Humanities

Wayne Keating

Wayne is currently Head of Teaching, Learning and Student Experience in the Faculty of Science and Engineering and will take up his new post at the beginning of April until the permanent DoFO is appointed in the summer.

He has worked in Higher Education for the past 18 years with roles at the University of Huddersfield and Sheffield Hallam University. He qualified as an accountant through the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and completed an MBA whilst working at the University of Huddersfield. His career to date has spanned across financial management into service delivery, general management and Professional Services Leadership. He joined the University last May.

Wayne said: “Having joined the University back in May 2018 I am still learning about the fantastic range of academic disciplines and world leading research areas. I’m looking forward to learning even more about the Faculty of Humanities and playing my part in guiding us through the next few months.”

Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Professor Keith Brown, said: “Wayne has a great mix of experience and skills that will enable him to undertake the interim role and, in particular, to ensure that we continue to make significant progress on the merger of the Schools of Law and SoSS, and the new leadership and new management models, until a permanent role holder is in post.”
