Staff benefits update - 15 August
15 Aug 2018
How we are continually trying to enhance your benefits and reward package
We now have a dedicated staff wellbeing website that brings together on-campus health and wellbeing support for you and access to a wellbeing blog - where we are always on the lookout for contributions from all staff. There is massive range of activities for you to try on campus to see what suits you! You can learn about Manchester’s Six ways to Wellbeing and discover national and international health awareness days. If you’re interested in becoming a Wellbeing Champion, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have a range of family-friendly policies and to help with childcare costs we have a have a great workplace nursery scheme (with two on-campus nurseries) and childcare vouchers schemes with KiddiVouchers (Don’t forget that the KiddiVouchers scheme closes from 4 October to new entrants. To ensure membership of the scheme, please read the latest update). For those who are keen cyclists, or are considering giving it a go, you can purchase a bike via Cyclescheme that enables you to save money on the purchase of bikes and accessories or just safety equipment only.
Payroll Giving Scheme
Our Payroll Giving Scheme enables you to donate to your favourite charity on a regular or one-off basis by automatic deductions from your monthly pay. A monthly gift of £10 from your take-home pay to your chosen charity will be automatically boosted to £12.50 for a 20% rate tax payer and £16.66 for a 40% rate tax payer. This means your charity receives your donation, but also the amount that you’d normally pay in tax at no extra cost to you. Giving this way helps your charity receive regular financial support and helps smaller charities in particular, as many do not have the resource to claim back Gift Aid.
