Volunteers Fair

Manchester Volunteers' Centre are encouraging all University of Manchester staff to explore how they can get involved in the local community, charity and voluntary organisations this Volunteers’ Week.

On the 4 June, 2018 there will be an action packed volunteering fair hosted at the Central Library Performance Space between 10.20 am - 2.30pm. There you'll be able to speak to charities, voluntary/community organisations and social enterprises and find out how you can support their brilliant and meaningful work.

There will also be talks on this year's theme 'Volunteering for All' from charities working with ex-offenders, people in recovery, organisations working to open up volunteering to families and volunteers who have been on extraordinary personal journeys. So make sure you make some time in your lunch break to check it out.

New volunteers will be in good company with over 87,400 volunteers supporting the voluntary/community organisations and social enterprises in the City of Manchester alone in 2016/17, not to mention the hundreds of thousands supporting organisations across Greater Manchester.

This Volunteers' Week there is a whole host of activities on offer including taster sessions at the national football museum and a volunteers' social at Plant NOMA (a chance for anyone who volunteers in the city or is looking to volunteer to come together to meet new people and enjoy themselves).

Volunteers from Manchester Museum will also feature in the Volunteer Centre's Volunteers' week story campaign showcasing the great work happening here to create a volunteer experience with opportunities for everyone to develop and grow.
