Encourage our students to stand for volunteering and fundraising elections

27 Mar 2018

Our Students' Union has opened standing for student-led volunteering and fundraising groups' committees

Students talking

The Students' Union has supported student-led volunteering and fundraising for decades. Each year students elect committees to oversee Manchester Raise and Give, Access All Areas and Student Action.

We want to encourage as many students as possible to stand for these leadership roles.

Manchester Raise and Give (or RAG) raise tens of thousands of pounds each year for local, national and international charities. Money is raised through challenges such as a Budapest to Zagreb cycle, bucket collections and events. If you know of any creative students who are passionate about fundraising, suggest them at:

Access All Areas is a university funded volunteering group who deliver student-led widening participation projects. From reading with children in primary school to supporting college students apply for Medicine, their work has a real impact. Suggest your students for this at:

Student Action has been running for over 50 years as a student-led community volunteering group. They run social activities for isolated elderly members of the community, run allotments in Fallowfield, offer support at Women's Shelters and much more. If your students are great at putting on events or are passionate about fundraising, visit:
