University takes gold and silver at prestigious communications awards

Celebrating success at Chartered Institute of Public Relations PRide awards for the north-west

Gold award at CIPR NW

The University is celebrating success at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide awards for the north-west.

The awards recognise outstanding work in communications and marketing in our region.

The University won gold in the STEM Campaign category for Manchester – European City of Science 2016, which saw scientists, teachers, students, media, policy makers, industry and the public can come together to debate, influence and be informed about current and future developments in science and technology and their impact on society at the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF).

The University of Manchester and Marketing Manchester delivered the PR and marketing activity for ESOF, a unique event held in a major European city every two years.

Judges described it as “a significant STEM campaign that achieved impressive levels of global coverage; The University of Manchester brought together diverse perspectives, blending industry, academia and culture to create unexpected unique partnerships to look at science in a new way”.

The University also won silver in the Best Publication category for The University of Manchester Magazine.
