The University of Manchester Staff Association (UMSA) have a great series of events upcoming for staff to participate in.
The University of Manchester Staff Association (UMSA) is a Social Club open to all members of staff of the University (whether part-time or full-time) and organises events, activities and outings for its members. It also hosts a lounge within the University Well Being Centre in the Simon Building. This room is open for use by UMSA members and provides a pool table, darts board, table-top games and lounge seating. There is a small kitchenette where you can make hot drinks.
The activities, events and outings are usually subsidised for the members and ranges from theatre trips, outings to Chester Zoo, Christmas shopping, Halloween and Christmas parties for the children. See below for the upcoming events calendar. As a member, you will be contacted by email and kept informed of all future activities.
UMSA members also benefit from subsidised access to the activities hosted at the Well Being Centre. These are usually at student rates.
UMSA Membership is £12 per annum, deductible from your salary at £1 per month. UMSA is managed by an Elected Committee who are always happy to receive suggestions and comments about how the management of UMSA and its events and services are organized.
Sunday 29th October 2017, 4-6 pm. Children’s Halloween party at the Whitworth Hall.
An afternoon of ghoulish fun for the children in the fabulous setting of The University Whitworth Hall. A disco and party games will be provided by our entertainers, Act One Parties. There is a competition for the best fancy dress, adults as well as children!!!! Price is £3 per child.
Saturday 25th November 2017. Christmas Shopping Trip to Chester and Cheshire Oaks.
UMSA will be running the annual Christmas shopping trip to Chester and Cheshire Oaks on Saturday, 25th November. We will be leaving the University at 0930 hours, which will give us the morning free in Chester and the afternoon at Cheshire Oaks. Price is £5 each.
Sunday 17th December 2017, 12-2 p.m. Children’s Christmas Party.
Bring the children to meet Father Christmas, with his resident Fairies and Elves. Have fun at the disco and join in the party games with our entertainers from Act One Parties. Fancy dress outfits are welcome.
The venue for this event is The Barnes Wallis Room, Sackville Street, Manchester. Please note that tickets must be booked and paid for by 29th November at the very latest. Parents are free of charge and coffee/tea/snacks will be available to purchase on a cash basis on the day.
Price is £12 per child. The ticket includes a children's lunch, entertainment and a Christmas present.
