Teaching and Learning in Promotions: Training for the New Criteria

In case you are new or were unable to attend the first set of courses last year, we are offering the chance to attend an extra session on the new criteria for teaching promotions which have been accepted by Senate and are now rolled out in Faculties.  An extra session is scheduled for 25th October 2017. Feedback from the sessions was very positive.

“I definitely think I will better be able to support candidates after having attended the course.”

“I previously did not understand that you do not need to have a publication or other external activity for teaching-focussed promotions to Senior Lecturer”

The sessions are aimed at:

 1. staff involved in a promotion committee, at school or faculty level

and/or

 2. people who support staff going for promotion where teaching forms part of their case.

Kersti Börjars (AVP Teaching, Learning and Students) will be running the session supported by various experienced promotions committee members from the Faculties.

It will be run as short interactive ‘lunch and learn’ session in the Staff Learning & Development rooms in Roscoe Building giving you the opportunity to learn more and raise any questions.
