LGBT History Month – new events added!

27 Jan 2017

LGBT History Month has been marked in the UK since 2005 and at the University we have held events every February since 2010

LGBT History Month

With 2017 marking 50 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality, it is fitting that the theme this year is ‘PSHE, Citizenship and Law’.

This year we have a variety of events covering different aspects of the LGBT Community. All the events are free to attend and open to all staff and students at the University, so we hope there is something of interest to everyone.

We’ve recently added four new events including collaborations with UMBUG, UMRUN, SPORT and the Martin Harris Centre. Even if you do not identify as LGBT you may want to find out more about a particular aspect, offer support to a friend, colleague or family member or even find out how you can be more involved – for example you could become an ALLOUT Ally.

Events are listed here with links out to Eventbrite booking pages:

After our recent Stonewall success, we are hoping these events will be a celebration of our achievements and a springboard to even better things in 2017.
