Display Screen Equipment Assessors Training

25 Jan 2017

This course aims to improve understanding and train participants in conducting suitable and sufficient Display Screen Equipment Risk Assessments, in order to reduce health effects associated with their use

Display screen equipment (DSE) has been blamed, often wrongly, for a wide range of health problems. In fact only a small proportion of users suffer any ill effects as a result of their work. This course aims to improve understanding and train participants in the carrying out of suitable and sufficient Display Screen Equipment Risk Assessments, with the aim of reducing associated health effects from their use.

We now offer a blended learning experience, allowing would-be DSE Assessors to complete part of the course online before refining their skills and gaining confidence with the support and guidance of a University Safety Co-ordinator in a practical workshop.

Important information

If you are responsible for Display Screen Equipment assessment but have not yet completed the training, please register for online learning at:

If you have already completed this training, the next practical workshop is scheduled to take place on Monday, 27 February 2017 (9.30am – 12pm) in  Staff Learning & Development, Roscoe Building, 5th Floor.

Please be aware we cannot allocate a place on the practical workshop unless you have successfully completed "THS17A DSE Assessment / Workplace Assessment - Part 1 (Online)".
