Planned IT downtime on P:drives, Blackboard and more during December

Some of this work will affect all staff and students

We’re making improvements to a number of our IT Services during December, which means you’ll be temporarily unable to access them.

To help you plan your work accordingly, here’s a list of dates for you to note.

Note: Work scheduled for CRM and Research storage over the weekend of 10-11 December has been completed.

During the student Christmas break

Saturday, 17 December (6.30am to 2pm)

Personal network storage (P:Drives), some shared network areas, the Video Library Service and some other services will be unavailable for all staff and students.

Sunday, 18 December (1am to 5am)

Blackboard will be unavailable while a workaround is applied to a known issue.

Sunday, 18 December at 2pm to the morning of Tuesday 20 December

Some portlets in My Manchester may display error messages. However, major services including Blackboard and Email will still be accessible, although people will not be able to activate course spaces.

Friday, 23 December (1am to 5am)

Blackboard will be unavailable while maintenance is performed.
