Discover Hidden Gems in Fallowfield and Withington

02 Dec 2016

Project highlights artistic, cultural and historic ‘gems’ in local community

Hidden Gems

As part of our ‘Halls 2 Home’ campaign, Manchester Student Homes have worked with student volunteers and long term residents to create ‘Hidden Gems’. The project highlights 25 of the local artistic, cultural, environmental and historic ‘gems’ that play an important part in the lives of local community members in Fallowfield and Withington.

We are organising community tours of the hidden gem sites, split into a Fallowfield and Withington tour. The tours will take place on Tuesday, 6 December from 12pm-2.30pm.

The purpose of these tours is to bring together both permanent and student residents to learn more about the community and the cultural heritage of Fallowfield and Withington. Local Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) will also be taking part in these tours and may have a story or two to tell as you travel between the sites.

This will be the third round of tours, the first being a huge success and enjoyed by all who attended!

These tours are being held as part of a wider week of events in conjunction with the University of Manchester’s Students’ Union.

If you are interested in taking part please email Milena milena.mandziuk@manchester.ac.uk or ring Manchester Student Homes on 0161 275 7756.
