Update on work progress along Oxford Road corridor

02 Dec 2016

Information to allow you to plan your journey on Oxford Road

Oxford Road

The resurfacing works being carried out on Oxford Road near Booth Street East/West are on schedule and the road is due to reopen in the early hours of Monday, 5 December.

Work to install a new bicycle bypass lane will start from late next week (8 December) around Grosvenor Square.  Work will take place on the in-bound side footpath and bus stops on that side of the road will need to temporarily close to ensure workforce safety.  This is due to complete early in January.

Also next week, and further up the corridor between Whitworth Street and Charles Street, the carriageway construction of the newly introduced bus stop platform is ongoing. This work is on the outbound side of the road only and has required a temporary lane closure, with diversions in place for affected traffic. That work is due to finish by 18 December.
