Simon and Hallsworth endowments showcase

Event for early career researchers in social sciences or political economy (broadly interpreted) and all researchers wishing to develop a research project that includes a fixed-term placement for a business partner

You are invited to attend the showcase event for the Simon and Hallsworth endowments.

This event will be of interest to:

  • Early career researchers who would like to apply for a three year fellowship in social sciences or political economy (broadly interpreted);
  • All researchers who would like to develop a research project that includes a fixed-term placement for a business partner.

The event will take place in the Kanaris Room of the Manchester Museum on Wednesday 16th November.  You are welcome to attend all or part of the event.

2.15pm           Arrival and registration

Drop-in session for Simon Industrial and Professional Fellowships:

2.30–4.30pm   Case study by Simon Industrial and Professional Fellow and host academic (Don Ward and Graham Winch, AMBS)

Presentations for Early Career Research Fellowships:

2.30pm           Introduction to Simon and Hallsworth endowments and applying for Research Fellowships (Nicola Glover-Thomas, Chair)

2.45pm           Tips on developing your research proposal (Jacob Seifert, current Fellow)

3pm               Tips on how to ace the interview (Vanessa May, former committee member)

3.15pm           Questions and answers

4pm                Refreshments, poster display and networking with current Research Fellows
