Staff and Postgraduate Research email problems - Resolved

Original message - 10:41am on Monday 17 October:
We're aware that some staff and postgraduate researchers are currently experiencing issues accessing email. This may result in error messages, Outlook on the desktop freezing intermittently or other issues.
In most cases, Outlook Web App will work for most people, but there is a chance that a number of staff (approximately 10%) may be unable to access email at all.
Currently, we do not have a time to fix but we hope to have more information by midday today (Monday 17 October).
This issue is under urgent investigation.
Update 1 - 12:00pm on Monday 17 October:
We've raised a support call with Microsoft, and our email team are working with them to resolve this issue.
Update 2 - 1:55pm on Monday October:
The email service has been restored and is now fully operational, however the backlog of emails from around 5am today will take some time to process, so may not be visible immediately.
