Register to be a judge at the Postgraduate Summer Research Showcase
27 May 2016
Please help to make this year's showcase a great success
The Postgraduate Summer Research Showcase, to be held this year on 30th June 2016, is an exciting series of events bringing together postgraduate researchers from across the University, fostering interdisciplinary networking and promoting the communication of unique and inspirational ideas.
Researchers will present their work for the showcase in the form of posters, images and short films. The event team would very much appreciate support from both academic and non-academic staff by participating in the event as a judge.
By taking on the role of a judge, you will be supporting students to develop their presentation skills - invaluable for communicating research. In fact, the presentation is just as important as the research itself. The judging for each category, whether a poster, image or short film - provides each student presenter with constructive feedback that will help build confidence for presentations at prominent international conferences in the future.
Each submission will be viewed by two judges: one will be academic and the other will be someone who is unfamiliar with the subject of the poster. Judging criteria for each competition category, requirements on the day and registration can be found at:
Your help and support towards making this year's showcase a great success, is very much appreciated by the PhD students managing and running the event.
