External networking from HEaTED

Networking events for technical staff, website, courses and CPD support

If you have not heard of HEaTED, they offer support to technical staff in higher education who want help with Continuing Professional Development (CPD), opportunities to network, and also help with professional registration via the Science Council. HEaTED work with the Science Council, with the Gatsby Foundation, and with the Institute of Science and Technology (IST) and other professional bodies. 

If your institution is already a member of HEaTED then it’s free for technical staff to become an individual member. There is also the option to become individual members and there are details on the new look HEaTED website, where there are many useful resources and an online discussion forum:

The regional networking events are free for all to attend, and once you register with HEaTED you will get regular email updates about events and courses coming up. The next regional networking meeting will be in Lancaster and there are details of how to register here: www.stem.org.uk/heated/north-west

There are also two courses, each two days, due to run in Manchester: Teaching and learning skills for technical staff module one on 27 and module two 28 June 2016, and also Leadership and management skills for technical staff module one on 4 and module two 5 July 2016.
