The University’s magazine is now online with a digital design that is as responsive as it is beautiful and inspiring.

The University of Manchester Magazine is an expression of the spirit of exploration, discovery and innovation that defines our University, celebrating the achievements of our staff and students past and present, and inspiring stakeholders around the world to make us a partner in their ambitions.

The digital design facilitates that – the magazine is not only easy to access across all devices, its stories are easy to share and so reach a global audience. Richer content will be added, beyond film and audio to animation and interactive features, making it even more engaging, attractive and a ‘must read’.

The second edition, out today and on news stands across campus, includes the story of Jodrell Bank from 1945 to today – and beyond – as the international headquarters for the Square Kilometre Array project (the world’s largest radio telescope).

Other features include a behind the scenes look at our international humanitarian medical relief work, a piece on the Campus Masterplan and its significant impact on the city and wider region; and Honorary Professor of Economics and Commercial Secretary to the Treasury, Baron Jim O’Neill of Gatley, sits down to discuss the University’s driving force behind the Northern Powerhouse.
