Want to become a Dementia Friend?

24 Feb 2016

Come to a lunch time information session

Dementia Friends is a national initiative that is being run by the Alzheimer's Society.

It is funded by the government and aims to improve people's understanding of dementia and its effects.

The Alzheimer's Society is working with lots of volunteers and other organisations including our University to achieve this goal because, together, we can create dementia friendly communities.

People with dementia sometimes need a helping hand to go about their daily lives and feel included in their local community. Dementia Friends is giving people an understanding of dementia and the small things that they can do that could make a difference to people living with dementia.

If you would like to become a Dementia Friend, book yourself on a lunch time information session at:

The sessions are in Staff Learning and Development, Roscoe Building, 5th Floor, 12.30-1.30pm, on:

  • Wednesday, 16 March
  • Thursday, 14 April
  • Friday, 20 May
  • Monday, 13 June
  • Thursday, 14 July
