Share your experiences of engaging students in collaborative learning

Share your experiences of engaging students in collaborative learning at the next Sustainability in the Curriculum Community of Practice meeting.

Collaborative (small group) learning is seen by many interested in educating for sustainability as a 'powerful pedagogy' (Nolet , 2016), consonant with the aims of building understandings and skills related to (social and environmental) sustainability.

Come along to the next sustainability in the curriculum meeting to share your experiences of engaging students in collaborative learning,  your ideas as to how it can be effectively done and the challenges you encounter in implementing  it (for example in assessed student work).

The meeting is on Wednesday, 17 February from 2pm to 4pm in University Place, Room 6.213.

You do not need to have used this approach in a 'sustainability education' context to attend the meeting. All with an interest in collaborative learning are welcome. Those of us who  have used collaborative learning  in sustainability education can share our thoughts on why we think it is useful for this purpose. 

About the Sustainability in the Curriculum Community

The Sustainability in the Curriculum Community aims to help share understandings and teaching ideas around sustainability education among interested staff  and to inspire staff  to critically and creatively engage with ways of integrating sustainability (social as well as environmental) into the curriculum.

If you would like to share your ideas/give a presentation/suggest a focus for a meeting we would love to hear from you. The community meets on a Wednesday every month during semester time.
