16 Nov 2016

Bake sales and other activities run by colleagues across the University raised hundreds of pounds for Children in Need on Friday, 13 November

Cake sale at The Mill

Pudsey's Patisserie (Directorate of Estates and Facilities) raised £860

Thanks to everyone who came along to make the bake sale a success, and special thanks to all the people who got involved and baked quite literally tons of cake!

The raffles and sweepstakes have all been drawn so if you won a prize you will have been contacted.

Organiser Steph Marsh said: "It’s been a hectic, sugar-packed day and I even got interviewed by BBC Radio Manchester. Here’s to next year being even bigger!"

School of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences coffee morning raised £297

Several members of staff and students donated home-made cakes and there were generous contributions of food and drink from Taste Manchester, Le Mange Tout and Impact Catering.

A big thank you to everybody who donated or ate cake (or both)!

Faculty of Life Sciences raised £238

Procurement Hub tombola raised £250

Occupational Health cake sale raised £70

Vasaio, Simon Building raised £78

Their “Guess the number of sweets” competition was won by Katie Daly, who guessed that there were 213 sweets in the jar (there were actually 218). Vasaio also ran a Football Card.
