Staff from all areas of the Human Resources Directorate – HR Services, Staff Learning and Development, Equality and Diversity, HERA, Pensions and Faculty Based HR Partners – donated their small change for local charities.

Ten teams had had fun designing collection tins, which were judged by Director of Social Responsibility Julian Skyrme.

Themes varied from an all-inclusive Mr/Little Miss and Mixter Men pot to a golden Harry Potter themed design.

However, The Winning Collection Tin was ‘Bee Kind’ for its creativity, concept and simple design.

Special Recognition was also bestowed upon The Button Jar, which was beautifully designed, and The Money Tree design.

Overall, the Directorate collected £187 in smallchange. This was split between charities nominated by staff – £148.86 for Alzheimer’s Society, £15.80 for Wood Street Mission and £22.34 for Ronald McDonald House.
