Staff benefits update

09 Sep 2015

This week it’s theatre offers for Swan Lake & Romeo & Juliet plus discounts on a range of health and beauty and outdoor activities and the latest at Alton Towers Resort

team walking

Autumn is on the way and one thing that has been mentioned by many staff is how lovely the decorative flower displays and gardens on campus are looking!  Following on from the Walking Works event earlier today you may want to register with the Lunchtime Strollers Group for free lunchtime walks. If so, email Betty-Ann Bristow-Castle via lunchtime-strollers@manchester.ac.uk to be kept up to date on all the walks which run Tuesday to Friday.

Update on the staff discounts pages

The recent changes to the staff discounts pages to make them secure was welcomed by most except a few staff who experienced an erratic technical glitch.  Until this is resolved the site has reverted to being open to all until this is resolved to ensure all staff including our honorary staff and colleagues based within our region’s hospitals have consistent access to these pages.

Teamwalking

Teamwalking has been sharing discounts with our staff for a number of years. There are still outdoor courses available till the end of the year including map reading and navigation courses. Prices start from £30 per person. Teamwalking is owned by Mark Reid  the author of 17 books, including the acclaimed ‘Inn Way’ series with books covering all of the National Parks of Northern England. Three of his books have been awarded the ‘travel book of the week’ in The Sunday Times, Mail on Sunday and the Guardian.
