Career options for researchers

07 May 2015

Pathways event for PhDs and research staff

Registration for Pathway, a major, University-wide careers event for PhD researchers and research staff, is open.

Now in its ninth year, Pathways welcomes around 400 researchers annually from across the University. The event is designed to support you in exploring your future plans and discovering the breadth of opportunities available to you.

The morning will consist of ‘Question and Answer’ panel sessions with people who have either completed their PhDs or moved on from university research posts in the last ten years. In the afternoon, a panel of employers and others will provide advice on the practicalities of getting jobs with a doctorate. This year, our Director of Student Life, Dr Paul Redmond, will talk about how job markets are changing and what that might mean for researchers.

If you’re a current or recent PhD or member of research or teaching staff from the University, this event is for you, and it’s free. We also provide a free lunch.

‘Pathways – Career Options for Researchers’ is on Thursday 4 June, 9am – 4pm, Renold Building, North Campus.
