Find your feet with the Lunchtime Strollers

08 May 2015

Walks depart from the campus on four days a week, led by Vanessa Cowan and Betty-Ann Bristow-Castle

Vanessa Cowan and the Lunchtime Strollers

Accredited by Walking for Health (a collaboration between Macmillan Cancer Support and The Ramblers), the Lunchtime Strollers take regular guided walks, setting off from campus. The walks are a great way to get out, get active and meet new people.

Walks take in local green spaces and also interesting local buildings and events (such as Victoria Baths, Manchester Museum, and Whitworth Art Gallery).

And don't be put off if you don't enjoy being out in the rain - walkers venturing out on wet days sometimes take shelter (and refreshment) in the tea room at Elizabeth Gaskell House.

Mid-week walks

Start from the entrance of the Zochonis Building:

  • Tuesdays (12.15-12.45pm - medium-brisk);
  • Wednesdays (12.30-1.15pm - medium-stroll);
  • Thursdays (12.30-1pm).

Friday walks

  • South Campus (35-45 minutes - medium-brisk) - join the mailing list for weekly updates about this walk;
  • North Campus (on request) - starts from the Vimto site opposite Sackville Street Building.
