Support Rachel Brealey’s 10km challenge for Hemihelp

15 Apr 2015

Rachel Brealey will be joining thousands of runners next month for the Morrison’s Great Manchester Run 2015

Rachel Brealey

EPS’s Director of Faculty Operations is running 10km to raise money for Hemihelp, a charity which provides support for children and young people with Hemiplegia - and their families.

Hemiplegia is a neurological condition that affects children and adults in a similar way to a stroke. It is caused by injury to the brain and results in a varying degree of weakness and lack of control on one side of the body.

Rachel has direct experience of the support provided. She explains: “My son Xavier was born with Hemiplegia and Hemihelp was (and continues to be) a vital source of support and information - as well as linking us to other families with hemi kids."

The money raised will be used to fund support services and activity days for children with Hemiplegia and their families.
