Staff volunteers wanted for Undergraduate Open Days: 19 and 20 June

01 Apr 2015

Be a part of our Undergraduate Open Day team and inspire the next generation of students to choose The University of Manchester

In response to increased visitor numbers, the University is delivering four open days: two in June and two in October.

Consequently we are looking for staff volunteers from any area of the University (who are not currently involved in supporting the Open Day as part of their role) to support us in the delivery of our Open Days on Friday, 19 and Saturday, 20 June. Volunteers will work alongside our existing team of staff and student ambassadors, showcasing the best of what the University has to offer.

Staff roles will vary, but most will be based on the Oxford Road campus and will involve greeting and directing visitors, advising on the sessions that they can attend and generally providing a warm welcome.

A staff briefing session will be held prior to the Open Days, covering essential information about what is happening on the day. We will ensure that staff working the Open Day for the first time are paired with colleagues with prior experience.

Colleagues wishing to volunteer should obtain the permission of their line manager.  Due to the events taking place at the weekend, confirmation regarding the provision of time off in lieu (TOIL) to cover the hours worked should be sought from your line manager.

To volunteer, please register your availability by Friday, 17 April at:
