Just a few days left to submit your entry for the Making a Difference Awards

23 Feb 2015

With a closing date of 2 March 2015, there is less than a week to go before the deadline for the social responsibility Making a Difference Awards

There are 11 categories to choose from, so why not give a colleague or yourself the opportunity to receive recognition for the difference they, or you, are making.

The Awards are open to all staff and students at the University and individuals or teams can submit an entry for themselves, or be nominated by a third party.

The Awards aim to recognise and celebrate the many different types of social responsibility achievements of the University’s academic and professional support staff, students and alumni.

Culminating in a major awards ceremony hosted by the President and Vice-Chancellor in May 2015, the awards will celebrate and raise awareness of how individuals and teams at the University are making a difference to the social and environmental wellbeing of our communities and wider society.

The award categories include the following:

  • Research impact on society
  • Curriculum innovation in social responsibility
  • Aspiring social enterprise
  • Social enterprise
  • Local community collaboration
  • Public engagement
  • Equality and diversity
  • PSS support for social responsibility
  • Environmental sustainability (staff)
  • Environmental sustainability (students)
  • Widening participation
