The Making a Difference Awards will recognise and celebrate the many different types of social responsibility achievements of the University’s academic and professional support staff, students and alumni.

Culminating in a major awards ceremony hosted by the President and Vice-Chancellor in May 2015, the awards will celebrate and raise awareness of how individuals and teams at the University are making a difference to the social and environmental wellbeing of our communities and wider society.

The awards will cover a wide range of contributions to the University’s social responsibility strategy and include categories such as sustainability, community and pubic engagement,  community collaborations, widening participation, and equality and diversity.

President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, said: “I would encourage everyone in our University community who is making a positive contribution to society to consider entering these new awards as this will raise the profile of your work and communicate and enhance its impact.”
