Suspension of industrial action by UCU

I wrote to you on Friday, 9 January 2015 to inform you that UCU had notified the University that it was resuming continuous industrial action short of a strike in the form of an assessment and marking boycott on Friday, 16 January 2015.
I am very pleased to inform you that UCU today confirmed they had taken a decision to further suspend all industrial action called by them in relation to their USS dispute from 16 January 2015 to allow them to consult further with their members following a period of intense negotiations and significant progress at the Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC).
We hope that that this will now enable both parties to agree proposals for a reform that offers an affordable and sustainable pension scheme that remains attractive for both current and future members.
