Stephen Venables, the first Briton to climb Everest without supplementary oxygen, will be coming to the University of Manchester Students’ Union this month to launch Manchester University Expedition Society (MUES)

The event will take place on Tuesday, 25 November at 7pm in Academy 2 in the Students’ Union.

Expect Stephen to recount incredible tales from a lifetime’s worth of expeditions, from early shoestring trips, right through to more recent, lavish ones. Hear how this world-renowned mountaineer entered the world of expeditions and why his unyielding interest and enthusiasm for adventure persists.

Manchester University Expedition Society’s event will bring students, staff and members of the public together and hopefully inspire others to plan their own expeditions all over the world.

Booking

Early bird tickets cost £4 for students and £7 for non-students.
