Re-launch of InStitches - the University craft group

18 Nov 2014

Institches is holding an information and drop-in session between 12 noon and 2pm on Wednesday, 26 November 2014 in the Knowles Committee Room (A) on the Whitworth Corridor

There’ll be tea/coffee and homemade cakes on offer and examples of items made by members of the group which will hopefully offer inspiration to others.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Chat to current members and others about the sort of crafts you like to do, be that knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross-stitch, tapestry or anything else that falls into the “stitching” category – we’ve already had one request to learn tatting, but don’t yet know anyone who can tat!
  • Discuss a possible charity project leading up to Red Nose Day 2015;
  • Register an interest by leaving your email address to be added to the INSTITCHES mailing list (INSTITCHES@LISTSERV.MANCHESTER.AC.UK).

Members of the group plan to meet weekly, alternating venues between south campus (currently Kilburn Common Room) and north campus (venue to be confirmed). The meetings are very informal – drop in any time between 12 noon and 2pm, bring your lunch and your current project and have a natter, seek/offer help with projects, perhaps get involved with an occasional charity project and generally get to know new people and develop new skills.
