Marking Armistice Day

07 Nov 2014

Take time to remember our fallen heroes

Poppies

University staff and students will be able to mark Armistice Day at 11am on Tuesday 11 November across campus and at two special locations, The Old Quad and the Martin Harris Centre.

Music students will play ‘The Last Post’ to introduce a two-minute silence in the foyer of Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama, and staff and students are invited to attend.

There will also be the traditional gathering of staff and students for a two-minute silence in The Old Quad, through the Arch on Oxford Road.

This gives us the opportunity to reflect and to remember the members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

The University has also published a website to commemorate the fallen, which includes a real-time roll call of all the names, visit: UoM World War I Centenary.
