05 Nov 2014

Fareshare Greater Manchester is looking for donations of ‘small’ Christmas cakes or mince pies that they can hand out to their dedicated volunteers to say ‘thank you’ from the week beginning 15 December

The majority of their volunteers rely purely on food donations, so they would really appreciate your support, especially around Christmas.

If you would like to donate a cake or mince pies, please contact Abigail Saffer by Wednesday, 10 December to arrange collection:

Launched in October 2008, FareShare Greater Manchester supports communities in combatting food poverty and food waste in and around Manchester. The operation is run by EMERGE 3Rs.

The team redistributes food to over 100 charities and community groups and new organisations are welcome all the time. Community food members provide vitally needed meals, food parcels and snacks to hundreds of disadvantaged people every day. They work with a huge variety of people experiencing hardship from people who are homeless or unemployed, people dealing with substance abuse, refugees and asylum-seekers at drop-ins, Surestart centres, and breakfast and after-school clubs for children and young adults.
