iPhone and iPad users - thinking of updating to iOS 8?

20 Sep 2014

Do you need to update straight away?

If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you may have noticed that Apple have released a new version of iOS, ready to be downloaded to your device. However, as with most updates, sometimes it’s advisable to wait for a little while before updating.

There are often bugs and incompatibilities with releases of new Operating Systems, so waiting for a little while means you can rely on everyone else to find the problems before you encounter them yourself!

For instance, with this release, some people using the iPhone 4S have noticed that the update has cause performance issues on their phone, especially those with less storage space. A few people have also noticed that they are having problems connecting to eduroam, having to remove their eduroam profile then re-install it.

Apple often produce minor updates after the initial release to deal with issues which have been noticed.
