More cake for cancer support

Sweet treats at Sackville Street Council Chamber

Macmillan Coffee Morning

The Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences Academic Services is hosting one of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The team are offering cake and a cuppa in the grand surroundings of the Council Chambers in Sackville Street Building, from 10am to noon on Thursday, 25 September.

Organiser Linzi Stirrup, Teaching and Learning Project Administrator, said: “There will be a range of lovely home baking, a variety of drinks and lots of smiling and cheerfulness – bring a mug and some cash to donate to a great cause.”

There are currently 2 million people living with cancer in the UK. By 2030 there will be 4 million.

Macmillan Cancer Support provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support to cancer patients and their families, and also push for a better cancer care system.
