Calling all floppy disk drives and legacy computers

03 Sep 2014

If you have any old equipment, containing floppy or tape drives, that you intend to dispose of – John Rylands Library wants it!

The John Rylands Library houses the Special Collections of the University of Manchester Library. In amongst all the books and manuscripts are many old floppy disks and tapes belonging to literary and theatrical archives held at the library.

The University is setting up a digital forensics room where we’ll be able to extract data from old floppy disks and tapes. They have several computers and a Kryoflux device but also require a stock of floppy drives (3.5”, 5.25” and 3”) as well as other legacy computers and drives.

If you have any potential additions to their digital forensics equipment, please contact:
