Ebola advice for staff and students returning from outbreak areas
07 Aug 2014
Staff and students advised to be vigilant of any suspicious flu like or abdominal symptoms within 21 days of return
Although there have been no reported cases in the UK, staff and students travelling to or from the region are advised to follow the guidance issued by the Public Health England:
If you have returned from countries where there has been an outbreak of Ebola and become unwell with fever chills and muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, sore throat or rash within 21 days of your return, you should remain at home and make emergency contact with the health services (ring 111 or 999).
Arrangements will be made for detailed assessment to exclude Ebola fever. The symptoms of Ebola can be similar to other conditions such as malaria or flu.
