Blackboard end of year information

26 Jun 2014

Important information about 2013/14 courses

Access to (2013/2014) Blackboard courses

You and your students currently have access to your Blackboard courses for this current academic year 2013/2014.

Last date for student access

Your students will have access to 2013/2014 courses until 7 September 2014 (unless you selected a different date option when you activated your course).

Please advise your students to download any content they want to keep for future years before they lose access to the Blackboard course.

Last date for staff access

You will have access to your Semester 1, Semester 2 and All Year 2013/2014 courses until 1st December 2015.

You will be able to ‘roll forward’ the content of this year’s course to your new Blackboard space for 2014-15 as soon as your administrator has scheduled the course in Campus Solutions. There will be a further communication about start of year and course activation next week, and full details will be available in the Knowledge Base.  Find out more about key dates for Blackboard 9.

Reviewing online content

Now is a good time to review your Bb9 course for next year, to identify any changes from last year and evaluate what went well and what could be improved.

You should also be thinking about reviewing your reading list(s).

2014-15 Blackboard courses

Please note that following the introduction of the new MyManchester for staff, a direct link to the Blackboard courses portal is not yet available.  We are working with the MyManchester team to confirm what the recommended process will be for accessing the activation link for this academic year. Guidance will be available shortly.

In the meantime please contact your eLearning team if you have any queries or want to activate your course(s).

Your School/Programme Administrator will be able to advise you when your course unit has been scheduled in Campus Solutions.  Once this has been done your course will become available for activation by the primary instructor (usually the course unit lead).

Students will be able to see the courses in Blackboard one week before the start of teaching. For most courses in 2014/2015 this is:
  • Semester 1 and all-year courses: 8 September 2014
  • Semester 2 courses: 19 January 2015
