Careers Supporters from PSS wanted for Transitions 2014
07 Jun 2014
Following last year’s successful pilot, the Careers Service will be running the Careers Supporters Programme, Transitions, for our 2014 graduates
Transitions aims to help our unemployed/underemployed graduates make a successful move into graduate-level work or further study.
We are looking for staff volunteers from across the PSS to take part as Supporters. You will be paired with, and hold monthly 30-minute meetings (either in person, via email, phone or Skype), with one graduate between July 2014 and February 2015, to help clarify what they want to do next and devise a plan which will help achieve their goals.
As a Careers Supporter you do not need in-depth careers knowledge as you will be acting more as a supportive sounding board and be able to refer graduates to the Careers Service for more in-depth guidance interviews and additional support.
