Strings at Sunset

03 Jun 2014

Playing for the first time at The Tabley House Collection, The Friends of Tabley present an evening with The Hallé Strings on Monday, 23rd June at 7.00 pm.

Joining Friends for the second of their Summer concerts, husband and wife duo Sarah Ewins (co-principal violin at the Hallé) and Tim Pooley (principal viola) will present a varied programme, ranging from much loved works by Mozart and Handel, to 20th century composers including Igor Stravinsky and Johan Halvorsen.

Passionate about chamber music, the couple are delighted to be presenting these works in the fabulous setting of Tabley House.   The Friends are particularly pleased that a window has been found, in an already busy schedule for the two performers, which, amongst their various engagements with the Hallé, will see Sarah undertaking the performance of all of Mozart's Violin and Piano sonatas over the course of two years, and playing 19 of them, with pianist Harvey Davies, over 4 concerts in 1 day at a major UK festival.

Wine and canapés will be served and tickets cost £20.   To book contact Anna Smyth on:
The final Summer concert will be on 15th July with a choral performance by The Border Singers.
