Wear your pin with pride for Donor Pin week

02 Jun 2014

And send your selfies to @alumniUoM #DonorPin

Donor Pin Week

During the week June 9-13 June the University will be taking part in Donor Pin Week – an annual landmark which recognises and celebrates the enormous impact that donations and charitable gifts have on universities across the country.

Donations to the University are allocated in a variety of ways including student access scholarships, ground-breaking research and campus facilities just to name a few. This year alone nearly 200 students benefited from scholarships which were fully funded by our generous donors and the impact of this funding has been tremendous.

To kick off Donor Pin Week this year we would like to celebrate our donors both on and off campus, starting with our many staff donors! We are looking for donors to submit a “selfie” proudly displaying their donor pins at one of the following:

  • A prominent location on campus
  • A famous landmark
  • Demonstrating the impact of that philanthropy can have on your career or your life (eg. in your office, in a laboratory, out in the community)

Along with your photo we ask that you tweet or write why you give to Manchester. We are hoping to get as many people around campus as involved as possible, continuing to show why Manchester is such a unique place.

Send your selfies and quotes to our twitter feed: @alumniUoM and use the hashtag #DonorPin
