Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey re-starts

After a break to allow postgraduate taught students to concentrate on their exams, PTES will re-start on Monday, 2 June and remain open until Thursday, 19 June
Launched in April, the survey is being re-started to give our students the maximum opportunity to complete the survey and to provide the University with the best quality data possible. If you have personal contact with students, you can play a key role in persuading them to take part in PTES, so please ask your students to complete the survey.
PTES gives us a holistic picture of PGT study at the University, and complements the Unit Surveys, which closed on 9 May. The survey also includes part-time and distance learners, giving us valuable information from these diverse groups.
Speaking in a new video for the PTES, Professor Clive Agnew, Vice-President for Teaching, Learning and Students says: “We hear a lot about student experience, but it’s often focused on undergraduates. It’s really important that we have an opportunity to hear the postgraduate voice.”
First run in 2013, the PTES has many benefits both at the Faculty level and for individual departments. However, with a relatively low response rate of 27% last year, Clive is keen for all staff to work together to improve the response and make the information more useful. “We really need to encourage students to complete the feedback, to improve that response rate,” he says.
