Manchester Student Homes Neighbourhood Helpline

20 May 2014

Manchester Student Homes (MSH) is a housing service run by the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University. As well as helping student find rented accommodation, they also help students, landlords and members of the community with issues relating to students living off campus.

Neighbourhoood Helpline

The Neighbourhood Helpline is an answering machine service which is available to long term residents and students to report issues such as noice nuisance or other forms of anti-social behaviour (ASB). This is currently well utilised in the South of the City although, in order to ensure a consistent approach is developed across all areas (with high numbers of students), MSH are looking to publicise the service further.

Any reports to the Neighbourhood Helpline are shared with Greater Manchester Police and Manchester City Council's Neighbourhood Delivery Team.  Complaints are followed up in partnership as part of a multi-agency approach to student ASB.

MSH are aware that many staff members live in 'off campus' areas, so please help them promote this facility to neighbours, colleagues and also the students themselves.
